NorhTec Gecko UMPC Another Low Price UMPC

NorhTec Gecko

Shown at CeBit, Gecko UMPC is a new 7-inch UMPC from NorhTec, Thailand vendor. Designed by Quanta, the winner of OLPC contract, Gecko UMPC is made for emerging countries market. So this means it will come in a low price, yes actually, Gecko will be retailed for $300.

For the $300 price , user get a Gecko UMPC powered by a VIA C7-M processor clocking at 1.0 GHz, 1 GB 256 MB RAM( upgradable up to 1 GB) and 400 40 GB HDD and running Linpus Lite OS.

    We came across this posting with a typo. The hard disk is 40 GB — not 400GB. The unit Gecko starts at 256 MB RAM but can expand to 1GB.
