Seagate to release Barracuda 1TB
Hitachi release it’s 1TB HDD in the first quarter 2007 and then foolowed by Samsung. Today, Seagate announced that it will join the battle by releasing Two hard disk series including 1TB capacities.
The first one isĀ called “Barracuda 7200.11″. “7200.11″ is a 3.5in with SATA and SAS interface,which has 7,200rpm, has up to 32 MB disk caches andtransfer data rate 105MB/s. This models expected to have 1 million hours MTBF.Comes in 3 different capacity, 500GB, 750 GB and 1TB. . The 1TB model has 4-250GB platters using Seagate’s 2nd generation of perpendicular recording technology. The 1TB capacity is priced at $399.99.
The second series is Seagate Barracuda ES.2. is targeted for business secondary storage and archive. The disk has an greater mean time before failure than its PC-friendly cousin; at 1.2 million hours compared to 1 million hours in the 7200.11.
