MSI Wind U100 Announced at Computex, U90 Will follow
MSI Wind , the highly anticipated ultra portable laptop from LinuxMicro-Star International is officially announced today at Computex 2008. The first model of MSI Wind is a 10-inch laptop called MSI Wind U100.
Available in two version which is the Windows XP version and Linux version, both U100 has 1024 x 600 pixel resaolution on its 10-inch screen. The MSI Wind U100 is powered by a 1.6 GHzIntel Atom processor, 1 GB RAM and 80 GB HDD.
But for the U100 Linux version, there are only 512 MB RAM and has less weight which is 2.3 pounds while the Windows version has 2.6pounds weight.
All version packed with wifi b/g, 56K modem, Ethernet port, 1.3-megapixel webcam, media card reader and four USB ports.The MSI Wind U100 will be available in white, black and pink. No information of the US release date but expected to be available this month.Regarding price, The U100 Windows version is priced at $499 while the Linux version is $399.
At Computex, MSI also announcing the upcoming 8.9-inch MSI Wind called MSI Wind U90. The U90 has the same specs with U100, except the screen size and resolution.
