Intel joint OLPC to develop the XO
Everybody know Nicholas Negroponte ’s OLPC project, a project to supply laptops for every child in the emerging countries. And a couple of months ago, Intel has the same project with it’s Intel Classmate which Negroponte claimed was a “loss” to foreign governments.
Considering the same vision, Both OLPC and Intel are now working together to carry out the goal. On this new colaboration, Negroponte said, “Intel joins the OLPC board as a world leader in technology, helping reach the world’s children. Collaboration with Intel means that the maximum number of laptops will reach children,”.
But that doesn’t mean that we won’t see the Classmate on the market, Intel still continuing the Classmate development and at the same time helping OLPC by sitting on the OLPC board.
