Intel Classmate 2 , retailed to consumers
Following the success of the Intel Classmate education-oriented laptop, Intel is readying Classmate second generation aka Classmate 2 PC which is announced at Intel’s Developer Forum in Shanghai. So it is official.
Intel Classmate 2 comes with 9-inch LCD screen and powered by Intel Celeron M processor, 512 MB RAM and 30 GB HDD. Comes in a sleeker design, Classmate 2 also featuring Wifi and webcam. Like the original Classmate, Classmate 2 also support Windows XP and Linux.
Designed as an affordable, fully functional, rugged Internet-centric and education-oriented computer platform, Classmate 2 will be available directly to consumers.
One of the early manufacturer that alredy ship Classmate 2 is CTL with its 2Go PC which is available at Amazon for $400 price tag.
