The Elonex ONEt probably runs at only 336 MHz.
Its “400 MHz” Intertoys look-alike, sold in late June, has now been “jailbroken” by Dutch hackers and its true speed could no longer be hidden from prying eyes. It uses the Ingenic Jz4730 processor (as can be seen on pictures of its PCB).
It runs at the maximum speed specified in the Ingenic Jz4730 datasheet: 336 MHz. Ingenic doesn’t seem to have a 400 MHz cpu (the Jz4740 is rated for 360 MHz).
The same cpu is used in the Razorbook and the Alpha-400 look-alikes (unless they lied about it). So I think it’s reasonable to assume that indeed all look-alikes, including the Elonex ONEt, use the same cpu.
The implication of course is that 3K Computers (for the Razorbook), Bestlink (for the Alpha 400) and others have been making false claims for many months.
