Packard Bell Dot, a 8.9-inch Netbook
Packard Bell unveiling its first netbook called Dot at its Global Press Conference today. Will boasts a 8.9-inch screen, Packard bell Dot will be powered by an Intel Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB HDD to runs on Windows XP OS.The company choose Windows XP because its “provides users with the features and interface they know so well”. The Dot will featuring a 6 cells battery to increase its operating time.
The Packard Bell Dot is aimed personals consumer, not company. “We told our designers and engineers to rethink the netbook, to look at it through the eyes of a family, not a company. The result is the dot.” Emmanuel Fromont, Packard Bell’s sales and marketing vice-president.
The Dot is expected to be available in November with a €399 price tag or about $577.
