Hitachi W61H clamshell phone with e-ink display
Hitachi W61H will be the first cellphone that adopt e-ink technology.The e-ink display on the W61H is not used as its main screen but just to make it look cooler. You can imagine it as a wallpaper for your phone, easier way to change your phone look than by changing its cover plate like used on Nokia’s phone.The e-ink on W61H is sized at 2.7-inch and called ‘Silhouette screen’. Hitachi W61H already has 95 graphic pattern for its e-ink display and users can download for additional pattern when its available.
The Hitachi W61H itself is a clamshell Hitachi cellphone sports a 2.7-inch screen with 240 x 400 pixel resolution, 100MB internal memory and a microSD card slot.The W61H also boasts a 1 seg tv tuner. Will be available at Japan’s KDDI, Hitachi W61H will be available in Black, White and Green.
