Samsung 70″ HDTV LCD save 50% energy

Scientist at Samsung Electronics find two solution to save energy up to 50% on their new 70-inches HDTV LCD.Instead of using CCFL (conventional cold cathode fluorescent lamp ) on the TC, they use LED ( light-emitting diode ) backlight. to save more energy, Samsung use new technology which can dim the LED backlight locally in the dark image area. With that ways , this 70-inches HDTV LCD can deliver 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 50% less power consumption.While flicker image and ghosting problem eliminated by Samsung’s LED scanning technology. This TV will available in the near soon.
